Accessing Your AEP Account
Considering AEP services customers in several states, you will need to select your company prior to accessing your account [+]. After making your selection, sign into your account by entering your username and password. Navigate to your account settings and make your bill payment.
AEP Bill Pay Details
When you receive your AEP bill, the charges reflect your usage for the previous month. If you have past charges of fees, this is placed on your current bill.
How to Pay Your Bill
Customers can pay your monthly bill by phone, by mail or online.
- By phone: You can pay your bill by calling the customer service department at 1-800-611-0964. All transactions are charged a processing fee.
- By mail: Customers making a bill payment by mail can send your payment to the address in your bill. If you do not have the address, visit the customer service page for the address.
- Online payments: When you make an online bill payment [+], you will need to sign into your account. After signing in, navigate to the online bill payment tab. Customers have the opportunity to sign up for recurring payments or sign up for a one-time bill payment. With each transaction, you are charged a service fee of $2.95.
Types of Credit Cards Accepted by AEP Bill Pay
When your make an online bill payment, you have the opportunity to pay with American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa.
Finding Help to Pay your AEP Bill
Customers facing financial hardships can reach out to the customer service department for payment assistance. After contacting the customer service department, the representative has the opportunity to offer budget bill, wherein customers take the average of your bill and divides your payments into 12 equal parts. You have the opportunity to pay one-third, one-sixth or one-ninth of your bill. This option is only available during winter months. If you qualify, you can sign up for LiHEAP [+] or PIPP Plus. These services are available for customers that qualify, based upon their income levels.
Penalties and Fees for Late AEP Bill Payments
Customers that pay their monthly bill after the due date will incur a penalty of 5% of the past due amount. This charge is added to your bill each month your bill goes unpaid. An additional penalty and charge associated with your bill is the security deposit. The total amount could potentially be 30% of your average bill.
